Progress update

Chris Unarmed recently went through 2 weeks of play testing, which uncovered a handful of issues. All known issues are now fixed, and the last remaining piece to the unarmed puzzle is the music, which should be arriving in the next 1 or 2 days.

All going well, Chris Unarmed should go into peer review this week!

Media wrap

Being my first game release, I wasn't sure what to expect on the promotional side. I've been pleasantly surprised with the response, with a number of sites picking up first the trailer and then the preview of Chris Unarmed. For those who haven't been following the Facebook page, here are all the publications so far:

Previews

Chris Unarmed has been previewed! Twice!

  1. ExL Studios Blog
  2. Emuholic's Game Blog

I'm extremely happy with how both of these previews turned out. In particular, they both talk my decision to offer unlimited lives, and then answer the question of whether this makes the game too easy by complimenting the game's level designs.

I have a feeling Chris Unarmed will live or die by its level designs. Which is okay with me, because the thing I'm most proud of in this game is the level design, in particular how it applies old ideas (things like wall jumping, wind, conveyor belts, etc.) in new and creative ways.
